ADCO organises technology symposium in Abu Dhabi

On Monday, February 27th, 2017, the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations Ltd. (ADCO) has organized its first Technology Symposium for Surfaces Facilities that was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi.

The Symposium was attended by ADCO’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Saif Ahmed Alghfeli, and a number of executives, managers, and administrative employees from (ADCO). This is in addition to representatives from group companies of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), its shareholders, the Petroleum Institute (PI), MASDAR, and a number of technology venders and agencies.

In alignment with the ADNOC’s four key pillars: People, Performance, Profitability and Efficiency, and to ensure maintaining a competitive edge, (ADCO) has shown its creative contribution in working hard to gather most of the critical challenges faced in ADCO Fields in search for modern solutions available to address them.

Support has been provided by ADCO’s Executive and Management Team in every step of the studies done by specialized individuals in the concerned areas, with related analysis; to reach scientific and practical recommendations, and; therefore, meet the challenges that have been pinpointed.

The study highlighted a number of challenges sorted under six categories; namely, i-Operations, Water Management, Corrosive Fluid Handling, Facilities Integrity, Cost Optimization, and Field Congestion. The idea of the symposium is mainly to search, capture and employ present technologies, each of which can be used to address the particular challenge highlighted under the categories mentioned above and that surfaced in the study.

Such technologies will also feed the development of operations, facilities, and will play a critical role in the implementation of work carried out in the fields in terms of quality, promptness, accuracy and safety as well.

(ADCO) is considered the first to propose a Technology Symposium for Surfaces Facilities that included several presentations delivered by a number of presenters highlighting and explaining the categorized challenges, and what they carry with them regarding opportunities for improvement and the benefits they bring for work efficiency in the fields.
