The ADNOC Annual Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Award program is designed to recognize outstanding achievements by employees and affiliated contractors of ADNOC Group Companies in the areas of Health, Safety & Environment.
Since its inception in 1997, the Awards have honored the HSE achievements of ADNOC Group Company staff and contractors. It provides tangible evidence of ADNOC’s commitment to HSE and is a key element in the program to promote HSE amongst company employees and contractors.
The Awards program motivates companies, teams and individuals to investigate and initiate activities that are beneficial to the health and safety of employees and the community, and the protection of the environment in which they operate.

When first launched in 1997 the competition focused on innovation to encourage the introduction and implementation of new ideas and technology. In 2001, based on feedback from ADNOC Group Companies, the HSE Awards were revised.
Awards are now presented for six categories: Health, Safety, Environment, HSE Performance, Innovation and Sustainable Development. Entries are submitted in one of five categories; Health, Safety, Environment and HSE Performance. All entries are judged for Innovation. Awards are made to the top two scoring entries in each category.
Invitations to submit entries are distributed to the Group Companies and contractors in November each year and applications are accepted until the end of January. The screening and judging process of entries is conducted in the period February to April with the Award ceremony being held in May.
Awards will be presented to the winning and runner-up submissions in the categories of Health, Safety, Environment and HSE Performance. Awards will also be presented for the two most innovative submissions.
An independent 3rd party will conduct the 1st round of judging. The top 5 submissions in each category as well as the ten submissions with the highest innovation score will progress to the 2nd round. The ADNOC Senior Management will conduct the 2nd round judging and will confirm the final selection of the winners and runners-up in each category.
Each submission is judged on the criteria outlined below. The maximum score that can be achieved is 100. Each submission is scored separately by 4 different judges. The geometric mean of the 4 judging scores is used to determine the ranking of each submission
